September 15, 2003 - Amersham Biosciences, the life sciences business of Amersham (LSE:, NYSE:, OSE:, AHM) has signed an agreement with Applied Precision for the distribution rights of the arrayWoRxe™ Biochip Reader in Amersham Biosciences' international region.

In its base configuration, the arrayWoRxe Biochip Reader offers single-slide, two-color microarray scanning capability. It incorporates streamlined image acquisition with easy-to-use software to provide highly accurate and repeatable microarray results. arrayWoRxe also supports gene expression, protein arrays, and SNP detection, and is ideally suited for use with Amersham Biosciences' CodeLink™ bioarray platform. CodeLink provides industry leading sensitivity for detection of low abundance genes, high specificity for better discrimination of homologous genes and high reproducibility for minimal experimental variation. The arrayWoRxe Biochip Reader complements Amersham Biosciences' existing microarray offering to provide a complete solution for microarray research.
