| World-Leading Probe Card Supplier Employing Probe Card Analyzer With Highest Available Channel and Probe Test Capability
SEMICON West, Booth 10536
San Jose, Calif. - July 12, 2000 - FormFactor, the world's fastest-growing probe card supplier, is employing Applied Precision's 4500 channel Extension option for the PrecisionPoint VX2 Probe Card Analyzer. The Extension option enables the PrecisionPoint VX2 system to offer the highest channel (4500) count and probe test capability (8000) of any probe card analyzer on the market, enabling efficient and extremely accurate testing of next-generation FLASH, ASIC and advanced memory multi-DUT probe cards.
"FormFactor is on the leading edge of probe card technology for advanced memory, FLASH, and ASIC customers worldwide. Through our close working relationship with FormFactor, our products are ready to meet the most rigorous requirements of those customers. Our strategic relationships with companies like FormFactor enable us to deliver solutions ahead of the market's needs," said Bob Heiligenberg, product line manager for Applied Precision's semiconductor solutions.
Mark Brandemuehl, vice president of marketing at FormFactor, said "Applied Precision has been a strategic partner in supplying metrology capability for FormFactor's 32-DUT and 64-DUT high pin count probe cards. FormFactor's roadmap for high pin count probe cards calls for shipping DRAM probe cards with 128-DUT capability and in excess of 5000 pins by early 2001. Applied Precision's PrecisionPoint VX2 Extension is a critical enabling technology that will allow us to continue leading the industry in high pin count, high precision wafer interfaces."
Production versions of the PrecisionPoint VX2 system with the 4500 channel Extension option are expected to be available in September 2000.
