NanoMotion® II Micropositioning System

Features & Benefits

The Leader in Resolution
The NanoMotion II system outperforms all other stepper and servo based actuators with our combination of accuracy, repeatability and resolution.

Programmable Acceleration Ramps
Each axis of motion can be divided into four individual acceleration/deceleration ramps which can be used to fine tune the performance of the NanoMover® actuator for a particular load or application.

Performance Guarantee
Using laser interferometry, each NanoMover actuator is certified to have an absolute accuracy of ± 1 micron and a bi-directional repeatability of less than ± 100 nm. A graph of the calibration data is provided with each NanoMover actuator.

Step/Hold Current
Two levels of current are used to minimize thermal effects and provide a more stable operating environment. During periods of motion, a "step" current is used. When stationary, a lower "hold current" provides just enough torque to maintain position.

Optional Joystick
For applications requiring simple motion commands, the NanoMotion II system can be operated through a standard joystick, eliminating the need for a host computer and reducing overall system costs.

Optional Limit Switches
Both contact and opto-interrupt type limit switches can be interfaced with the NanoMotion II chassis, providing an added level of protection for sensitive equipment used in conjunction with the NanoMover actuator.
