In this position you will be responsible for developing and leading a "world class" procurement department. This person will manage all aspects of procurement and the supply chain to purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible cost.

• Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components, and equipment
• Directs the activities of buyers to accomplish company objectives
• Implements appropriate sourcing strategies to control the company's purchased material costs and to assure an adequate source of supply
• Reviews and approves purchases according to company policy
• Negotiates major supplier contracts
• Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities
• Monitors the cost, schedule, and performance aspects of major subcontracts
• Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the group
• Analyzes changes in materials and supply to reduce costs and improve quality
• Manages to optimize supplier performance including continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost

• BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent
• CPM certification preferred
• Minimum of 10 years experience in purchasing with a minimum of 5 years in purchasing management
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate others in a hands-on team oriented environment
• Hands on experience with ERP/MRP systems
